Rodrigo Brand is an actor, poet, and storyteller in Los Angeles. He has worked on a variety of commercials, including such clients as Gucci, BMW, and MasterCard, performed in over 20 plays, and wrote a play that received high praise in his homeland – Brazil. On his new site, Rodrigo wanted to highlight his versatility as an actor. An extensive gallery of his previous work, his impressive client list, and outstanding achievements in theater would equally contribute to positioning Rodrigo as an experienced and talented artist.
Vision
Rodrigo and GRIDDL came up with the concept of revealing more qualities and facts about Rodrigo as the visitor keeps exploring the site. Hence the title of the site – Who Is Rodrigo Brand? As the visitors read on, they will eventually find an answer to that question.
Design Criteria
BEST FACE FORWARD
The goal is to showcase Rodrigo as an actor with a versatile look and broad range of character types as soon as one loads the website. Get the visitor interested enough to stay on the site.
BRAGGING RIGHTS
Satisfy the visitors curiosity and answer their questions about Rodrigo’s credentials and experience by showcasing his achievements, client list and skills.
BEYOND THE ACT
Last but not least, let Rodrigo’s personality and creativity shine through on his personal blog of poetry and prose.
Identity
We wanted to do a play on traditional minimalist web design with a lot of “white” space and contrasting typography. However, to avoid it looking and feeling too cold and impersonal, we created an off-white and earth tones color scheme. The typography is a perfect juxtaposition of strong serif titles and clean rounded modern sans serif body text.
